CHI Self-Massage
- for physical rejuvenation and mental vigour

Chi Self-Massage is a simple and effective self-care practice for improving and maintaining health and well-being.

Massage techniques and exercises are based on stimulating and balancing the flow of Chi in the body. In Oriental medicine, Chi is considered as our life essence, which maintains and nurtures our physical body, mind and spirit. Chi flows through all the organs and body areas through a system of channels or pathways known as meridians. There are 12 major meridians, each one supplying the energy to a specific organ or system in the body. When a meridian or different points become blocked, the area or bodily functions nurtured by this meridian will enter into a state of dis-ease, a condition of stress. Releasing of blocked Chi in a meridian or body area helps to achieve a healthier and more balanced condition.

We use different massage techniques, including pressing, tapping, rubbing, stretching and stroking to enhance the flow of Chi and to break through stagnation. If there is a dysfunction or weakness in a particular organ, the points along the meridian will be hard or painful. We need to work on those points more patiently. By directly massaging the energy points we encourage the life force and awaken the healing resources. Self-massage also helps to cleanse the body from toxins.

With regular practice you will experience:
- improved health and well-being
- inner peace
- emotional calmness and a clear mind
- resilience to stress and negative situations
- openness for receiving the healing energies of the Earth and Universe

A beautiful Opening to the Light gesture begins the practice and special Chi gathering movements complete the practice, opening your body for receiving the energy from the Earth and Universe.
